Keywords:
Blockchain, Carbon Credits, Green Economy, HRM practicesAbstract
Blockchain’s potential to improver HRM efficiency has drawn growing scholarly attention, with discussions spanning the entire employee lifecycle from recruitment to separation. As digital adoption expands, a clearer understanding of its utilization and measurable effectiveness is increasingly needed. However, literature linking blockchain-based HRM practices to cost efficiency remains scarce. This study therefore conducts a systematic review of current research on blockchain in HRM, examining usage trends across practices, methodologies, and settings. Using bibliometric analysis via Publish or Perish with Google Scholar and Scopus as database, 123 articles from 19 journals published between 2017 to 2021 were analyzed through systematic data mapping and qualitative inductive analysis to identify relevant themes. The results show that blockchain application to efficiency is used mostly on recruitment and selection process, ranging from personal data verification towards quality of decision making in skill developing and maintenance. Six research themes have been developed indicating potential explorative and exploitative future research to improve the effectiveness of using blockchain in HRM practices.
