Abstract

This study proposes a novel conceptual model termed "Ethical Knowledge Quality," which integrates Islamic values with resource-based theory to address existing gaps in the literature concerning the relationship between knowledge quality and organizational performance. Employing a theoretical integration methodology, the study synthesizes existing literature on knowledge quality, learning orientation, and Islamic organizational principles through a systematic literature review and theoretical modeling. The resulting framework defines Ethical Knowledge Quality as relevant and accurate knowledge that adds value to oneself, others, and the organization in achieving quality of life in both this world and the hereafter, while fostering closeness to Allah SWT. The study further identifies learning orientation and digital capabilities as key catalysts for enhancing knowledge quality and organizational performance within this framework. The findings suggest that organizations can implement this model to develop more holistic knowledge management systems that consider both worldly success and spiritual fulfillment, ultimately promoting more sustainable and ethical business practices. This research contributes a novel integration of Islamic ethical principles with contemporary knowledge management theory, offering a unique perspective on organizational performance enhancement that addresses both material and spiritual dimensions, thereby filling a significant gap in existing scholarship and providing a culturally grounded alternative framework for knowledge-driven organizational development.
