Abstract

Although motivation is critical for enhancing lecturer performance, conventional achievement motivation theories predominantly emphasize secular outcomes and rely on Western frameworks, often neglecting the spiritual dimensions essential for Muslim professionals. To address this gap, this study explores the Al-Tafa’ul Achievement Motivation model, which integrates Islamic spiritual values into the concept of achievement motivation by emphasizing a balance between optimistic effort (ikhtiar), trust in Allah (tawakal), and the pursuit of both worldly and spiritual success. Using a qualitative literature review of Islamic texts and scholarly works, the research identifies key elements such as goal setting, persistence, optimism, and responsibility grounded in Islamic teachings. The study offers a spiritually rooted motivational framework that redefines success through ethical excellence, inner peace, and divine approval, providing a holistic approach to personal development for Muslim individuals.
